Bathing in thermal water for therapeutic aims, like it is still applied today at the Hotel President, dates back to times long ago (Paleo-venetian period in the 7^th-6^th century B.C.) up until reaching a level of great importance in the Roman Age.

In the last century, medical hydrology took the “character” and “dignity” of Science and, with ups and downs, it still has a lot to offer, above all in the rehabilitation sector. The “wealth” of the Euganean thermal complex comes from the exploitation of hyperthermal salt-bromine-iodine water, which gushes in this region. Thermal water flows for a long track deep down from the Pre-alpine arc to the Euganean region at temperatures between 65°and 87° C and finally reaches Abano Terme, where it is used for the hotel guests’ benefit.

Equipped with its own wells, the Hotel President has four swimming-pools with thermal water at controlled temperatures between 32° and 34° C all year round so that it is possible to have a swim outside, even in the winter. The heat and this water’s active principles, combined with water jet and waterfall massages, has a beneficial relaxing and revitalizing effect. Thanks to its thermal sources, the Hotel President is equipped with a sweating cave, a hot and humid room where thermal steam is combined with aromatherapy. Besides the amazing psychophysical effects of relaxation due to heat, the beneficial effects of the cave is proved by the efficiency improvement of cardio-circulatory, immune, metabolic, respiratory, osteoarticular and muscular-tendinous systems. It is also an exceptionally efficient beauty treatment as it has a draining effect on tissue while also cleansing and improving the skin’s elasticity.
