Venice: an unmissable destination for cultural, romantic events as well as for shopping, it is about 45 km from Abano Terme. You can reach Venice by your own means or by a large number of public transportation means in less than one hour.

The historical Regatta

One of Venice’s most important events is certainly the historic Regatta: an imposing parade of historical boats precedes the boat competitions of the same type (competition of the gondolini, etc.).The modern regatta was established in 1841 when the Town Hall asked to be able to have an annual competition among boats with the expenses supported by the public and no longer by private citizens. When Venice was included in the Kingdom of Italy in 1866, the regattas aimed at celebrating the glorious past of the Venetian Republic. Starting in 1899, under the proposal of Venice’s mayor, Count Filippo Grimani, the regatta also got the title of “historic.”
