The Euganean Hills area maintains a great amount of fame with the wine-making tradition in the Veneto region.
There are 13 “D.O.C.” wines made within this territory. Among those, the most famous are red wines, such as Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon, white wines such as Chardonnay, special sparkling wines such as Serprino or Moscato Fiori d’Arancio.
The origins of the local cuisine are closely tied to the farmer’s culture. Excellent salami, delicious soup (bean soup dressed with little Extra Virgin Olive Oil is fairly famous)l homemade pasta and tasty grilled meat.
Furthermore, nature helps by offering a large variety of spontaneous herbs to be matched with risotto, omelettes or starters.
The production of oil is also quite important: made in mills since the 1800’s, the Euganean oil stands apart for its fruity flavour, low acidity level and sweet almond aftertaste
